Lyrics
Glory to you, O Liberty, your boundless temple Rises in the heavens, built on eternal law! Man was made to serve you, and in his mighty heart You must reign as a god, in awe. Glory to you! Already the shadows flee the sunrise, Already under distant skies the lightning glows, And the future, crowned with roaring light, Rises from the grave where darkness grows. Rise up, ye naked peoples, slaves of tyrant masters! Break your chains! The day is bright! People! To your butchers, to their wicked laws, Oppose but justice and the sky’s clear light! Let the storm’s fire ignite your brow with fury! Let the tempest open your eyes at last! That in this righteous battle, beneath honest thunder, Your cry be noble, fierce, and vast! Ah! What do I see? They rise! O sublime army! They stand beneath the living flag once more! And I, standing proud, my soul aflame, Shall tell the tyrants of the earth... farewell forevermore!
