Lyrics
Please, question my empathy if you dare, When I proclaim that poetry’s beyond compare. It’s the messenger of creativity, unique and pure, An essential salve for wounds we’re forced to endure. (I believe) It’s the voice of humanity, irreplaceably true, A bridge to understanding, both old and new. In a world where trends turn feelings to commodities, Poetry fosters humility and deep camaraderie. (I believe) Poetry matters—like planting life’s seeds. Now, more than ever, it’s the trend we need. In an age of standardized, hollow narcissism, It dares to defy global capitalism’s schism. With respect to pyramids, churches, sacred creeds, And Maslow’s famed hierarchy of needs, Let’s not forget: in instability and vulnerability, Poetry thrives as the witness to fragility. (I believe) It counters dehumanization’s grinding force, Encouraging empathy, alterity, and discourse. It listens for voices, both quiet and loud, Unearthing the power within the crowd. (I believe) It stands against manipulation and divides, A flame in the darkness, where connection resides. It resists the oblivion of apathy’s grip, And shares truths that teach hearts how to flip. It breaks the chains of vengeance and despair, Building bridges where there was only air. It finds magic in life’s mundane explorations, Awe in moments, and quiet celebrations. You’ll know it when it hits you—it flows, A voice so raw, every line glows. It sings of meaning, of hearts drawn near, It echoes in wonder, sharp and clear. (I believe) It captures the texture of lives we share, It paints differences with strokes of care. Across valleys and cultures, it dares to leap, Inviting us to dream, reflect, and weep. With words so humble, yet almost divine, It lifts us from ordinary to the holy line. Filling silences with a voice that’s warm, Poetry, like love, becomes the norm. (I believe) That’s why poetry is a must, A language of hope, of shared trust. It’s our dignity, our individuality laid bare, A chance to celebrate the beauty we share. (I believe) It’s the answer to artificial evolution, A means to spark a cultural revolution. So take the leap, it’s free to try, And perhaps together, we’ll learn to fly.
